Jeff Alberty

Executive summary

Jeff Alberty is a Managing Director with the Corporate Tax group at Grant Thornton’s Washington National Tax Office. Within this group, Jeff provides consultation on a wide range of S corporation issues and other corporate and individual issues related to corporations including interest expense limitations, qualified business income under section 199A, reorganizations involving pass through entities and other general corporate tax matters.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Jeff worked for 13 years for the Internal Revenue Service including 8 years in the Large Business & International division on the S corporations & Cooperatives Practice Network as a subject matter expert and coordinator. In this capacity, he routinely provided advice to IRS personnel in exam, local counsel, national office counsel and Treasury. He participated significantly in a number of IRS guidance projects, including the drafting of revenue rulings, revenue procedures and regulations. Jeff also has extensive experience in IRS exam practice and procedure.
