Joseph Brown

Executive summary

Joe has been in practice for over 25 years. His areas of expertise include Depreciation, ASC 842, Accounting Methods, Income and Expense Recognition, Research & Development Tax Credit, Inventory Planning, Section 199, FAS 109, FIN 48 and Capitalization Strategies. He brings to Grant Thornton his knowledge and experience in the health care industry, including several speaking engagements. In 2008, Joe was the featured tax speaker at the AICPA Health Care Conference. His other areas of experience are in the real estate, retail distribution and manufacturing industries.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Joe was a Partner with Ernst & Young, where he was the quantitative services practice leader for Florida and Tennessee. Additionally, Joe was the federal tax liaison for the health care industry group. While there, Joe served as past Chairman of the EYKL Best Real Estate Deal of the Year Awards Program and was a Board Member of the American Resort Developers Association Chairman’s League.
