David Cavin

Executive summary

David serves as the National Fixed Asset Leader for Grant Thornton's Strategic Federal Tax Services practice, where he is tasked with spearheading tax fixed asset initiatives across the firm. In addition to his national responsibilities, David also serves as the Central Region Leader for Grant Thornton’s Capital Cost Recovery (CCR) practice.

David has over sixteen years of experience in the fixed asset consulting field, plus almost two years in commercial construction cost estimating. He has also performed various other construction consulting analyses. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, David worked in Ernst & Young’s Real Estate Advisory Services working on cost segregation and other fixed asset-related projects.

David specializes in performing Cost Classification, Depreciation Analysis Studies, Fixed Asset Process Improvements, Repairs and Maintenance Studies and Accounting Method changes for clients all across the U.S. David has deep fixed asset consulting experience across many industries, including retail, finance, hospitality, gaming, healthcare, real estate and manufacturing.
