Patrick Hughes

Executive summary

Patrick is the Head of Corporate Development for Grant Thornton LLP. In this capacity, Patrick leads the firm’s efforts to achieve growth and profitability through strategic acquisitions, divestitures of non-core practices, as well as cultivating joint-ventures and strategic partnerships.

In addition to leading the firm’s M&A efforts, Patrick consults with, and advises, the firm’s Senior Leadership Team and Partnership Board on a variety of special projects and strategic initiatives.

Patrick has completed over 60 transactions over his career, spanning roles in corporate development, investment banking, financial restructuring, and management consulting. He has a demonstrated track record for delivering superior client outcomes in complex, challenging, and time-sensitive situations.

Prior to leading Corporate Development for Grant Thornton, Patrick was a National Director in the firm’s Corporate Finance practice, where he advised clients on mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, capital raising, and financial restructurings.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Patrick was a Vice President with Phoenix Capital Resources, the investment banking division of Phoenix Management Services – a nationally recognized restructuring boutique, and was an investment banking analyst with Harris Williams & Co.
