Lauren Kielsmeier

Executive summary

Lauren Kielsmeier has served in senior policy, management and consulting roles for more than 15 years at both federal and state levels. At the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Ms. Kielsmeier served in multiple executive leadership positions, including Chief of Staff at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and DHS Executive Director for Academic Engagement. Upon her departure from the Federal Government, Ms. Kielsmeier spent four years at Booz Allen Hamilton, where she provided homeland security expertise for DHS clients. At the state level, Ms. Kielsmeier served in progressive levels of leadership working directly for the Governor of Arizona, including education policy advisor, division director, and director of the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism, Arizona Statewide Youth Development Task Force, Governor’s Youth Commission and the Arizona State Citizen Corps Council.

Prior to her government and consulting experience, Ms. Kielsmeier worked in leadership roles for more than 10 years in private industry and with a not-for-profit organization. Ms. Kielsmeier’s Grant Thornton experience includes support to the Department of Homeland Security, other civilian agencies and institutions of higher education. She received a BA from Tufts University and MBA from University of San Francisco.
