Matt Paddock

Executive summary

Matt is a Partner in Grant Thornton’s Mid-Atlantic audit practice. He has more than 12 years of experience in accounting and internal controls matters within the technology, construction, manufacturing, and real estate industries.

Matt collaborates with clients on reviews, integrated financial statement audits, agreed-upon procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 internal controls testing for publicly traded corporations. He manages an international team during these engagements allowing for a single, local point of contact for his clients.

He also leads risk assurance and internal controls advisory projects for SEC reporting clients which focus on their ethics, compliance, and financial reporting programs and control structures.

In addition to this experience, Matt also works with large privately-held commercial clients, multinational corporations, and companies within the professional services and energy industries.

Community involvement

Matt has involved himself with the greater Washington community through his time working with Junior Achievement and the Community Foundation of Northern Virginia.

Education

Matt received a Master of Science in Accountancy from Wake Forest University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Davidson College.
