Michael W. Parsons

Executive summary

Michael Parsons is a Tax Principal in Grant Thornton LLP’s Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit Services practice, which provides initial-year R&D credit analysis, annual R&D credit reviews, FIN 48 analysis and IRS and state audit support.

Michael is a seasoned tax executive with nearly 20 years of R&D tax credit service delivery, project management, and relationship management experience. He has worked on an exciting list of public and private companies – from small and medium enterprises to global Fortune 50 companies.

He is a technical subject matter expert in Federal and State R&D tax credits (including IRS/State audit defense) with broad technology experience in media and entertainment, green energy, food science, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, engineering, software and hardware industries.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Michael was in the Global Investment and Innovation Incentives practices of both Deloitte Tax (12 years) and Ernst & Young (5 years) where he led and managed the pursuit and delivery of tax services related to R&D and Federal tax credits.
