David Platt

Executive summary

David Platt is Grant Thornton’s East Regional Managing Partner. He previously served as the firm’s Northeast Regional Managing Partner and, prior to that, he was Grant Thornton’s New England Regional Managing Partner.

David joined Grant Thornton in 2011 when the firm acquired CCR LLP, an accounting- and wealth-management firm with six offices in New England, Florida and Canada. At the time of the acquisition, David led CCR LLP as its CEO. He had previously held roles at Ernst & Young in New York City and Boston.

David has more than 30 years of experience working with organizations on financial matters that include strategic planning, corporate board governance and profitability enhancements — as well as merger and acquisition services. He has served clients as an Audit partner in a variety of industries. These include manufacturing, wholesale and distribution, and financial services.

David has served as the audit-committee chairman on the boards of several commercial companies. He is active in the New York City and Boston business communities and is the former Vice Chairman of the Rhode Island Board of Accountancy.
