Angelica is part of Grant Thornton’s Atlantic Coast Territory Not-for-Profit and Higher Education Practice with over 13 years of experience. As is a member of Grant Thornton’s National Higher Education Sector Committee, she works closely with her peers to continue to drive thought leadership and strategic insights for institutions in this space. Angelica has led and created numerous training sessions on a full range of not-for-profit accounting and auditing topics, including OMB Circular A-133 (now Uniform Grant Guidance) for firm staff and for her clients and others within the not-for-profit sector.Angelica has served a variety of not-for-profit and higher education clients and has specific experience overseeing the audits of large, complex clients including institutions of higher education, religious organizations, private foundations, museums and membership organizations, and social services organizations including those with complex endowments as well as those subject to Uniform Guidance audit requirements. Her Uniform Guidance audit experience includes testing over Student Financial Aid as well as Research & Development and other federal programs including those administered by the Department of Health and Human Services. Angelica has assisted her clients with the implementation of various accounting standards in recent years and she understands the complexities and risks associated with proper reporting and disclosure in the not-for-profit and higher education sector in which she specializes.
Additionally, Angelica is the local champion of Women at Grant Thornton in the firm’s Philadelphia office and a member of the National Women at Grant Thornton External Relations Committee. She is also a member of the Steering Committee for the Women United Initiative of the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
