Michael Sinese

Executive summary

Michael Sinese is a Tax Managing Director based out of the Philadelphia office of Grant Thornton LLP and also serves as the Atlantic Coast Market Territory Leader for the Capital Cost Recovery (CCR) practice.

He is a member of the Strategic Federal Tax Services group and specializes in various tax fixed asset studies, including Cost Segregation and all facets of the Tangible Property Regulations including Repairs & Maintenance and Disposition studies.  In addition, Michael has assisted with Accounting Methods, Research & Experimentation Tax Credit studies, Section 199 (Domestic Production Activities Deduction) studies, Treasury Section 1603 energy grant certifications and the preparation of tax returns for various entity structures. Michael has been with Grant Thornton for over fourteen years.  His experience includes both the tax and engineering aspects of fixed asset studies.  This dual knowledge lends itself to several efficiencies when performing a study.

Before joining Grant Thornton, Michael gained more than two years experience in public and private accounting, providing tax consulting and assurance services to middle market clients in the medical, technology and hospitality industries.

Since joining Grant Thornton, Michael has been heavily involved through various tax consulting projects in the Consumer & Industrial Products, Technology, Construction, Real Estate & Hospitality, and Financial Services industries.
