Executive summary
Richard is a Principal in our New York Human Capital Services practice and leads the Global Mobility Services team in the New York/New England territory. He has significant experience advising clients from start-ups to large privately held and listed multinational companies on US and UK tax and social security issues for businesses with internationally mobile employees. Working a range of industries, he also provides advice and guidance on assignment and mobility policy, program management, international compensation and benefits and employment taxes issues.Richard joined Grant Thornton UK LLP’s London office in 2006 on the firm’s graduate recruitment program. In 2018 he was promoted to Principal having joined our New York City practice in 2016. Richard has over 12 years of experience advising clients in different stages of growth and international expansion. He has managed large assignee programs, having designed and redeveloped international assignment and tax policies and processes for businesses in industries from financial services, technology to consumer products. He has experience advising on multijurisdictional issues, including assignment structuring, tax and social security planning, payroll and employer obligations such as international equity issues, end of year compensation accumulation and reporting. Richard also supports companies assess global compliance and risks associated with internationally mobile employees.
Working with colleagues across Human Capital Services and Grant Thornton’s global organization, he advises on international equity, benefits and employment taxes considerations.
Richard has spoken at industry events and authored articles, discussing trends in global mobility, global and regional tax trends and their impact for employers and individuals.
