Dana Wilson

Executive summary

Dana Wilson is an Audit Services partner in Grant Thornton’s Insurance practice. He is the leader and partner In charge of the Hartford, CT, market. Wilson began his career at a Big Four firm. He has over 22 years of public accounting experience serving publicly held and closely held multinational and national companies, primarily in the insurance and commercial industries. In addition, he has directed consulting engagements including internal control assessments and implementation resulting from the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, strategic planning, profit enhancement and business process re-engineering.

Wilson has extensive insurance industry experience, including audits of traditional insurance companies and mutuals, self-insured pools, captive insurers, public entity risk pools, state-sponsored high-risk pools, governmental and intergovernmental pools, and other alternative mechanisms offering property and casualty/workers’ compensation, health, medical, title and pharmaceutical insurance coverage. He also has extensive experience serving insurance agents and brokers. He has experience with entities reporting under accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S. and Statutory Accounting Practices prescribed by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.

He was named to the 2015 National Academy of Public Accounting Professionals Top 10 Public Accounting Professionals list for Connecticut and serves on the board of directors of the Connecticut Insurance and Financial Services Commission and the World Affairs Council of Connecticut.
