James Wittmer

Executive summary

Jim Wittmer is a Tax Services partner and the Atlantic Coast market territory Strategic Federal Tax Services practice leader. In addition, he is also the partner-in-charge of technical matters for our Capital Cost Recovery services. He has more than 20 years of tax experience serving public, private and foreign-owned companies in a variety of industries. For the past 8 years, Wittmer has served as leader of the specialty corporate tax areas, including all areas surrounding fixed assets generating both permanent and timing adjustment savings. He is in constant communication with the office of the IRS Associate Chief Counsel, and as a member of Grant Thornton’s Tax Education Committee. Wittmer is a frequent lecturer on both federal and local taxes, both in-house and to outside professionals and business groups. He also is a member of Grant Thornton’s national working group specializing in issues and planning techniques surrounding subchapter C corporations.
